Approved and required by
the HIPAA - (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) Patients can
sign in without seeing the information from other patients. You could then use
the numbered label for two uses, you could apply it on your patient’s chart so
that you could keep a record of all his/her visits, or you could have the
patient keep the number so that you don’t have to call his name. Either way for
either use patient’s information will be protected to the utmost
confidentiality.
Let your patients sign in without seeing the information
from other patients. Your patients will sign in on the removable numbered label
when entering your office and the info will copy down to the second sheet. The
label strips will then be removed, and the patient information is now protected
behind special backing paper. The first form, the original one; were your
patient signed her name will be applied to the patient's file folder or you
could use it as a tracking system and call you patients by their numbers so you
won’t need to say their names aloud.
