What Is Pre-collated NCR Paper?

We have many customers that want to print their own forms and ask us about pre-collated ncr paper. Pre-collated ncr paper refers to carbonless sheets that have been assembled into the proper sequence to make a complete set. For example, for a 2-part business form, the paper comes pre-collated in a ream in white/canary sequence. The pre-collated ncr paper can be used in laser, inkjet, and digital printers and copiers to produce your business forms. The paper also comes in 3-part, 4-part, and 5-part in standard colors of White/Canary/Pink/Gold/Green.

The advantage of pre-collated paper is you can customize your NCR printing in any way you want. You can produce your own custom invoices, work orders, and purchase orders for your small or large business.

How to make your own carbonless purchase orders: The packages are clearly marked indicating the “image side” of the paper. Be sure to print on the image side of the paper in order for them to function properly.

To make a 2-part form with white/canary, you will need to print two (2) copies of your invoice template from the file you are using. The paper will come out of your laser printer in proper sequence collated together. You can then staple or glue together. The hand-writing marks made on the white sheet will transfer through to the yellow sheet for a fully functional carbonless purchase order.

Pin Feed Continuous Computer Paper is perforated diagonally at even intermissions with a line of small tears which forms a tear edge that defines the top and bottom of each page. When unfolded into a flat continuous sheet, this slit perforation closes up to allow the printer to print across the perforated edge without stopping or jamming. The paper is also punched longitudinally along both side edges with 5/32-inch (4 mm) diameter engagement holes at a regular 1/2-inch spacing. NCR Books, Pads, Loose Paper and Continuous Paper

“The acronym NCR in the printing industry stands for No Carbon Required; this is a special type of paper that is the modern day replacement to the old fashioned and messy blue carbon paper that was used to make duplicates, usually found in invoice and order pads.

With NCR paper there is no mess at all, the back of the first sheet is coated with micro-encapsulated dye. The face of the second sheet is coated with a clay that quickly reacts with the dye to form a permanent mark. Any further sheets needed are coated with clay on top and dye on the bottom allowing for 2, 3, 4 or even more copies of the original sheet.

When the top copy is written on the pressure of the pen/pencil (or printer) makes the coating on the reverse of the top sheet react with the coating on the face of the bottom sheet, causing the micro-capsules to break and spill their dye, as the capsules are so small, the print obtained on subsequent sheets is very accurate.”

NCR paper is typically used in duplicate pads, where the user requires instant multiple copies of what is being written. For example; an invoice or receipt pad where the company keeps one copy and the customer receives the other. It is also widely used as agreement forms whereby the customer signs and agrees to Terms & Conditions or similar, again allowing the company and customer to both keep a signed copy.
